IVN's Response to Covid-19
With the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis, we realized that this is a particularly difficult time for the social sector in Israel.
As the businesses and populations we support are even more vulnerable to market volatility than “profit first” investment companies, we asked ourselves how we can be most helpful to our portfolio impact ventures and the marginalized populations they employ and serve.
After we brought our network together to assess the situation and develop new strategies for our portfolio companies, we established two new programs, more than doubled the number of volunteers in our Network and significantly increased our impact on marginalized populations in Israel.
Emergency Plan for IVN’s Portfolio Ventures
IVN’s board members, staff and mentors joined forces to support our Portfolio companies to ensure their survival and success. We offered new loans, and continue to monitor each venture, restructuring loan payments and adjusting business plans where appropriate. We also provided extensive support in marketing and advertising and have held virtual meetings for IVN’s Network, the ventures’ CEO’s and their mentors, to share best practices, compare strategies and collaborate when possible.
All of our Portfolio companies have survived the acute phase of the crisis – and together with their mentors, our portfolio companies are reinventing themselves to thrive in this new digital world, constantly turning challenges into opportunities.
Our new programs
Helping not- for- profit and the social business sector in Israel survive the pandemic and its aftermath
EXTRA-NET IVN
This program is suitable for social businesses that create solutions for marginalized populations in Israel, either through employment, products, or services, that do not meet the investment criteria of IVN’s existing funds. Now they can receive the benefits of the IVN Network including mentoring, business consulting and strategic connections.
