Charedim Lakezev
In this special and innovative project, Charedim Lakezev operates sports clubs for the ultra-orthodox sector and conducts rehabilitation activities for youth at risk through capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music.
Youth at risk who have undergone a rehabilitation process and a special course receive certification to be assistant coaches, which enables them to work within the framework of the project as well as to integrate into the general labor market in community centers, schools and so on.
The certificate is recognized by the International Capoeira Association to which Charedim Lakezev belongs, and will allow the assistant coaches to work abroad as well.
Young men enrolled in the program are identified by rabbis who refer them as well as by direct outreach of the organization, by going out into the streets, public parks and other places where the boys congregate.
