IVN’s ‘Unconference’

On April 2, 2017, IVN conducted our annual event at the Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv.  Trying something new, we choose the format of an unconference, ‘a loosely structured conference emphasizing the informal exchange of information and ideas between participants, rather than following a conventionally structured program of events.’

As guests arrived, the agenda was created in real time based on the topics they wanted to share, including personal opinions, ideas and experiences related to social businesses.  Each speaker received a 30 minute time slot, including time for questions and open discussion to present a lecture, play a game, tell a story, etc.

The turnout was incredible. We had over 200 attendees and 25 speakers.

The event opened with a light lunch and an opportunity to catch up and mingle with friends and colleagues.  Opening the content part of the event, our Chairman, Eric Benhamou, welcomed and thanked everyone for coming and sharing his vision of the future of the Social Business Ecosystem here in Israel.  From there, the group broke out into 5 different tracks, participating in discussions related to economic development, employment, technology, financing and education. We reconvened at the end of the day for coffee, sweets and more mingling.

The event proved to be a great way to learn and network.
