IVN’s “Shiur Acher” is Changing Israel’s Periphery – One Volunteer at a Time

shiur acher articleFounded in 2002, Shiur Acher aims to change the way children perceive themselves utilizing a low cost/high impact approach. Shiur Acher recruits volunteers – accomplished professionals – through their place of employment as teachers in Israeli schools teaching “different lessons” in their own field of expertise. With over 200 courses across the country, and over 2000 volunteers, Shiur Acher currently serves thousands of children from a variety of backgrounds. These children are inspired to develop new ways of thinking and set higher goals for themselves through role models, new teaching methods and exciting subject matter.
