IVN Venture – Ecommunity – Inaugurates its New Facility

Posted by on Jun 18, 2013 in News |

The electronics manufacturing industry is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world, resulting in an ever-increasEcommunity_dedicationing stream of waste products with harmful environmental consequences. Recycling raw materials from end-of-life electronics is the most effective solution to the growing e-waste problem. Understanding the importance of this and as a way to provide employment opportunities for special needs populations in Israel, Ecommunity, a social enterprise, was established. Located in the north of Israel, Ecommunity is an electronic garbage recycling factory that employs people with special needs.

At the end of May 2013, Ecommunity inaugurated its new facility. Ecommunity CEO Danny Kogen and Israeli Environmental Protection Minister Amir Peretz cut the ceremonial ribbon.

Ecommunity joined IVN’s portfolio in late 2012 as part of the Social Venture Program.
